Slip and Fall in a Leisure Centre
Mary is a 44 old lady who sustained fracture elbow when she was caused to fall in a Leisure Centre. Mary had sought advice from another firm of Solicitors who told her that she had no case. When Mary contacted my office I told Mary that I could not give her an opinion until I took a full attendance from her outlining the exact circumstances of the accident.
Mary had a photograph of the accident site which she showed me she came to the office. The reason for the accident was obvious in that the accident happened outside of a treatment room where water and oils had been allowed to flow from the treatment room onto slippy tiles which caused her accident. When I wrote to the Defendant’s Insurance Company they admitted liability within 28 days and we did not even had to engage the services of an Engineer. Mary was referred to an orthopaedic surgeon to get a detailed prognosis advising that Mary might suffer from arthritis in the future. This is a possible complication from any fracture in a middle age lady. Mary’s claim was then settled on generous terms. If Mary had not sought the advices of our firm and had relied on the advices of the first Solicitor Mary would have received no compensation whatsoever.
