MRSA

MRSA is short for methicillin – resistant Staphylococcus Aurous and it is a very debilitating hospital infection. Overcrowding and poor hygiene standards are highlighted as major factors in contributing toward this infection.  In many instances hospitals and health care institutions have failed in their duty of care to patients by failing to take the following steps:

  • Poor Hygiene before and after each patient contact;
  • Failure to provide proper hygiene standards;
  • Failure to detect MRSA through adequate health surveillance;
  • Failure to carry out appropriate risk assessments;
  • Failure to have in place infection control policies;
  • Failure to ensure that all laboratories are properly cleaned and treated.

If you have contracted MRSA after a stay in hospital or a surgical procedure you may entitled to seek compensation.  Please contact liammoloney@moloneysolicitor.ie
